Civitavecchia's ferry port is a very modern port. There is a train station in Civitavecchia where trains run hourly. It will take you between 45 minutes and 1 hour to reach this port from Rome (it depends of the train you take). The other regional trains depart from Trastevere and Ostiense train stations.
To reach this harbour by car - from the North, exit the Aurelia SS1 highway to Civitavecchia – Orte (Bretella) and follow the signs for 'Porto'. From southern Italy or Rome take the exit for Civitavecchia Sud (which is South in Italian) and then follow the signs.
